Medicare Plans, Explained Simply

Already on Medicare or turning 65 soon? Let’s find the plan that’s right for you — for free.

Two Main Choices

Medicare Supplement vs. Medicare Advantage

Most people don’t realize they have a choice. Here’s the plain-English version.

Medicare Supplement (Medigap)

Pairs with Original Medicare. A monthly premium, but very low or no out-of-pocket costs when you go to the doctor or hospital.

  • See any doctor that accepts Medicare
  • No referrals needed
  • Predictable costs — few surprises
  • Best when you have ongoing health needs or travel

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Replaces Original Medicare with a private plan. Often $0 monthly premium and includes extras like dental, vision, hearing and gym memberships.

  • $0 or low premiums on many plans
  • Built-in prescription, dental and vision
  • Network of doctors (HMO/PPO)
  • Best when you want all-in-one coverage

There’s no “best” plan in general — only the best plan for you. We’ll walk through both side-by-side, free.

Common Situations

Which One Sounds Like You?

Click any situation below to see how we can help.

You can switch Medicare Advantage plans during the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7), and during the Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1 – Mar 31). Some life events also unlock a Special Enrollment Period.

We’ll review your current plan, look at the doctors you see, the medications you take, and compare what other carriers offer. If your current plan is the best fit, we’ll tell you. If not, we’ll help you switch — at no cost to you.

Review My Plan

That’s the most common thing we hear. Medicare comes with a confusing alphabet soup — Parts A, B, C, D, Medigap letters, networks, copays, formularies. It’s a lot.

We’ll sit down (in person or by phone) and walk through your existing coverage in plain English. You’ll leave knowing exactly what you have and whether anything should change. Free, no pressure.

Your Initial Enrollment Period starts 3 months before the month you turn 65 and runs through 3 months after. Missing it can mean lifetime late-enrollment penalties — so let’s talk early.

We’ll explain Parts A, B, D, Medigap and Advantage, help you weigh the trade-offs, and make sure you enroll on time and in the right plan for your situation.

Plan My Enrollment

You’d be surprised how often people are paying for benefits they don’t use, or missing out on plans with $0 premium and built-in extras. We compare every major carrier we’re appointed with — Humana, Aetna, UHC, Mutual of Omaha and more.

If we can save you money without giving up the doctors you love, we’ll show you exactly how.

Show Me the Savings

Welcome — we work closely with several Lake Charles physicians (including Dr. Agendia, Dr. Springer and Dr. Adeosun). Their staff sends patients our way because they know we’ll explain things clearly and never push a plan that isn’t right for the patient.

Just call (337) 270-2201 or fill out the contact form and we’ll get you set up.
